The Super Eagles will continue their2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign on Tuesday, March 25, as they take on Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
After securing a 2-0 victory over Rwanda last Friday, courtesy of Victor Osimhen’s brace, the Super Eagles have climbed to fourth place in Group C, with six points. They now set their sights on three crucial points against Zimbabwe as they look to close the gap on group leaders South Africa (10 points) and second-placed Benin Republic (8 points).

Having missed out on the last World Cup in Qatar after a heartbreaking play-off defeat to Ghana, the Super Eagles are determined to avoid another disappointment. With Eric Chelle’s coaching crew working hard behind the scenes, fans will expect a dominant performance from Nigeria’s star-studded squad.
Head-to-Head Record
The Super Eagles have historically dominated Zimbabwe, winning three of their last five encounters. However, the first-leg match in Zimbabwe ended in a 1-1 draw, showing that the Warriors can put up a fight.

Nigeria has not lost to Zimbabwe since 2005, and given the quality of players in the squad, they remain the clear favorites for this fixture.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, has yet to win a match in the qualification campaign. They have recorded three draws so far—0-0 against Rwanda, 1-1 against Nigeria, and 2-2 against Benin Republic.
Despite their struggles, Zimbabwe will aim to frustrate the Super Eagles and force another draw, just as they did against Benin Republic last Thursday.
Key Players to Watch
Victor Osimhen (Nigeria)
The Super Eagles will once again look to Victor Osimhen for goals after his brilliant brace against Rwanda. The Galatasaray striker has been instrumental in Nigeria’s qualification campaign and will be eager to add to his tally.
