Kenneth Omeruo’s Unexpected Departure from Kasimpasa: Career at a Crossroads
Kasimpasa and Omeruo Part Ways
Turkish club Kasimpasa has unexpectedly parted ways with Nigerian international Kenneth Omeruo, bringing an abrupt end to his third spell with the Istanbul-based side. Struggles with Injuries and Limited Game Time
Despite high expectations, injuries significantly hindered Omeruo’s impact at Kasimpasa. He managed only five league appearances before being sidelined in October, raising concerns about his fitness and longevity in professional football. His persistent injury woes ultimately led to the club’s decision to cut ties with him mid-season.
Omeruo’s departure comes at a crucial moment for the Super Eagles, who are preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria currently sits in fifth place in Group C, making their upcoming clashes against Rwanda and Zimbabwe critical. With Omeruo’s future uncertain, coach José Peseiro may have to rethink his defensive strategies
